Why are you now charging to join "Lounge Lizards?"
Answer:
First, we've established a second group, sort of a "Premium" group, "Lounge Lizards in Exile." We hope this group will become the largest of its kind, a group whose mission it is to preserve and promote this great music, and to see to it that there are ample outlets to keep it alive for future generations...as well as for your own current enjoyment.
The reason we created a subscription or membership fee of sorts is that so many people asked us how they could help, how they could participate in this effort going forward. A lot of you asked if you could invest, maybe buy a share or two of the company.
First, the law doesn't allow us to solicit for investments quite that broadly. Quite frankly, under the law, if I weren't part of the company, I wouldn't be financially qualified to invest in my own company.
Second, the way we're incorporated, there is a limit to the number of individual investors we can have. So these legalities, coupled with the number of people who've asked, led us to create Lounge Lizards in Exile, with the $29.95 dues.
Each member receives the new Lounge Lizards in Exile t-shirt.
While they last, each member will also receive the Society of Singers' Great Voices - Great Songs CD. The reason we're saying While they Last is that after we established the offer, we found out that the record label that released the CD on behalf of the Society was almost out of their original stock. We are investigating whether it's possible to expand this offer by having them manufacture more of the CDs.

What will the money raised be used for?
Answer:
The money raised from this venture will essentially be Seed Money for the company. Since so many people asked how they could help, the one area where we needed some help is covering some of the initial expenses involved in starting the company. My partners and I have spent thousands of dollars of our own money putting together the business plan, traveling to meet potential investors, advertisers and affiliate radio stations. The money raised from this first effort will be used to step up those activities and most importantly, to get us "On The Air," on the Internet. Being on-line will do a number of things for all of us.
Our presence on the web offers YOU an opportunity to listen to the music you love with the level of entertainment, information and communication to which you've grown accustomed. It is the first step to our getting back on the radio here in Southern California and across the country.
Our presence on the web offers potential investors and advertisers an opportunity to get a sample of what they're investing in, and the kind of product their advertising will be a part of.
Our presence on the web allows us to begin selling advertising to previous sponsors like Manhattan West Mortgage, Pollman's Insurance, Nature Bee and YMT Travel, just to name a few advertisers who have already asked to join us again. This is critical because it shows investors that there is a market for what we will broadcast, and that we will make money for them.
Perhaps most importantly, our presence on the web gives us an opportunity to show both advertisers and investors that there are so many of you looking for a radio home that does not yet exist. It's the reason we occasionally ask questions about you, questions whose answers will be compiled separate from your name and contact info, into a composite picture of our audience that will prove to all that we are a powerful group of consumers worthy of their attention and advertising.

As of Sunday, June 11, we have almost reached the 50% point. We have a way to go, but are confident as more people tell their friends, forward the membership email and spread the word, we will reach our goal.
